Hawaii says aloha to special fund designed to support clinical research into psychedelic-assisted treatment using psilocybin and MDMA.
Hawaii’s Senate approved a new proposal to create a special fund designed to support clinical research into psychedelic-assisted treatment using psilocybin and MDMA.
The proposal passed by a vote of 22-1.
Sponsored by Sen. Chris Lee, SB 1042 would establish a state “mental health emerging therapies special fund,” which could be used to subsidize clinical trials, establish public-private research partnerships and eventually develop state programs around patient access for “compassionate use.” Here’s more: https://www.marijuanamoment.net/hawaii-senate-approves-bill-to-support-clinical-research-on-psychedelic-assisted-therapies/
A new study from Kyoto University has revealed how prenatal infections followed by early-life stress – known as “two-hit stress” – can lead to brain dysfunction and psychoses.
Researchers found that affected mice showed abnormal cerebellar activity, increased microglial turnover, and impaired brain-wide connectivity. But microglia replacement therapy was able to successfully reverse these effects, offering a potential new approach for mental health treatments.
Results also found that sex differences may influence stress resilience, highlighting the need for personalized treatments for psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. Check it out: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-025-07566-2

Did you know that 80s pop music icon Rick Springfield microdoses LSD?
He actually began using ketamine therapy to treat his depression, but didn’t find much success. Then Springfield decided to give LSD a try, saying that it was “a little better.”
Some people swear by microdosing LSD while others question its effectiveness. Of course, everyone is different, and experiences tend to vary. But if a little microdosed LSD can help the Jessie’s Girl singer effectively help him battle his depression, we couldn’t be happier.
